A guide to making life a little more fabulous
I may not be very traditional when it comes to Valentine’s Day, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like strawberries and champagne every once in a while.
Crank up the heat, turn off your humidifier, put on your cowboy boots and turquoise bolo tie and stick a cheese crisp in the toaster oven.
Are you sugared out? Too many conversation hearts? A few too many bon bons? More than a socially acceptable amount of Jell-O-based cake? Me neither.
Let’s be honest: I will eat just about any salsa that’s put in front of me.
Here’s the thing: If you had asked me a year or two ago to make a list of the things I could never, ever see myself cooking and blogging about, that list would look something like this.

The Fourth of July is all about grilled meat and watermelon and cold beer… but you still need something to eat for breakfast.
So, I think y’all know that I’m semi-obsessed with this fruit salad with mint sugar.
Do you like Creamsicles? Dreamsicles? Orange-cream slushes at Sonic? Anything with orange and cream together? I love them all.
Pie is a must-have for Thanksgiving, but you don’t necessarily have to stick with pumpkin, pecan or apple… or limit yourself to one.
“Sticky toffee pudding” is a bit of a confusing name for Americans (like me).
You’ve got your turkey, you’ve got your mashed potatoes, you’ve got your sweet potatoes and the pie… but what are you going to drink for Thanksgiving? Sure, you could stick with wine, champagne or beer.
