A guide to making life a little more fabulous
Did you know that snack stadiums were a thing? I had never seen or heard of them until I saw a crazy one on Bon Appetit’s website a year or two ago.
Since Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us, I thought I’d start my Super Bowl recipe sharing with these amazingly rich, fudgy (and gluten-free) chocolate cupcakes.
First things first: You won’t be able to make this for dinner tonight.
Even though Super Bowl is all about beer, meat and football, I thought we should have at least one healthy thing at our party.
While I obviously love a good cocktail, I feel like parties need a fun non-alcoholic drink, too.
A couple of years ago, every party we went to had the same dip.
It would be lovely if we all had endless supplies of margaritas made from fresh-squeezed lime juice, agave syrup and premium tequila, rimmed with a fancy artisanal salt blend and garnished with a sliver of orange peel.
About 10 years ago, my go-to cake recipe involved a box of cake mix, a can of crushed pineapple, a can of sweetened condensed milk, a bag of coconut and a tub of Cool Whip.
I’ve been making and drinking smoothies since childhood, but I have to admit it had never occured to me to add greens to the mix.
Somehow, even though I’ve been married to a boy from Kentucky for nearly eight years, I’ve never been to the Kentucky Derby.
Are you Team Pie or Team Cake? I’ve always been more of a Team Pie girl myself, so, of course, I thought about making something akin to a Derby pie for the Kentucky Derby.
Have you ever heard of beer cheese? I hadn’t, until a former boss mentioned it a few years ago.
One of my many annoying food issues as a child was that I hated cereal.
Have you ever gone strawberry picking? We lived less than 5 miles from a strawberry field for two years and kept promising ourselves that we would go, but we never did.
I’m sorry I’ve been MIA most of the summer, y’all.
Have you ever had mochi? I had not tried it — or even heard of it — until a few years ago, when a friend broght Trader Joe’s mochi ice cream bites to a party we attended.
Acai bowls are definitely the more well-known and ubiquitous of the smoothie bowls, but pitaya — sometimes called dragon fruit — is really my favorite.
